I installed windows 7 on my computer, rendering my vista recovery partition inoperable and utterly useless. So, I erased that partition, and gained a 10 GB partition to put my files in. However, I know want to merge it with either my C: partition, or even better my D: partition. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, so how were you able to delete the partition? This is the same one from your previous thread, isn't it?

Mikisu, I had noticed you recommending PW multiple times, but it's free so it's not like you could profit from it!

EDIT: one more thing. Steve, when you say "merge", I'm guessing that you want to add the empty 10GB of space to one of the other partitions ("extend" C or D). The phrase "partition merge" usually means merging the existing data as well as the available space, which is tricky to do.

Mikisu, I understand. I was just letting you know that I get the joke. Not everyone would understand unless they have read all of your previous posts. :-)

I know how to do all of those-delete, wipe, move, but i can't add the 10 GB to the other partitions. BANANAS! Why can't I figure this out. Blah.

Steve, can you post a screen shot of your Disk Management window?

You said above that you now have a 10 GB partition, but what you need to expand another partition is unallocated space. So you have to delete the 10 GB partition (after copying off any important data) then move the other partition(s) so that the unallocated space is immediately after the partition to expand. Then you can expand the partition by 10 GB.
