We had issues with one of ours (weird, only one) until we installed SP1.

Memory Stick Problems
(48 posts)Aleeve, if you decide to replace your USB flash drive, look for one that is ReadyBoost compatible. Even if you don't use it for ReadyBoost, at least you know it was tested with Vista.
BTW, I just can't bring myself to say "memory stick" for these devices. Memory DIMMs are called sticks and Sony's flash memory format is called Memory Stick(TM). TM as in trademark. It's all just too confusing. Pen drive, thumb drive, and so on are all short and sweet but they don't seem to have caught on universally. "USB flash drive" is a mouthful, but seems to be the most widespread and specific.
Aleeve, I did a search on your flash drive and you do not seem to be the only one with that problem (unless you have posted to several other forums as well). Here is the flash that I have been using http://www.newegg.com/Product/.....6820220263 and it has yet to cause me any problems in Vista.
Try here then http://www.memoryc.com/usb/fla.....razzo.html (looks like newegg is out of stock anyways).
Ooh, ooh! I want to play, too. Let's go shopping with Aleeve's money! I like this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/BOOST-.....B000VE2RP6
It's also made by Patriot Memory, is Vista ReadyBoost certified, rated 150x speed(!), and only £16.94 from Amazon UK. Each "x" in the speed rating is 150 KB/s, so 150x is 22.5 MB/s and, although they don't say if that's read or write, it's very fast! Who wants to wait around when you are transferring 8GB of data?
Really? I like the sound of that lighthouse!I doubt he's serious though
