ok heres the deal, my mobo is capable of 8 gigs of ram. i installed 4 gigs and when i use vista 64 bit or xp 64 it registers full 4 gig. but when i use 32 bit it only registers 2.87 bit. can i tweek this so i can use more than 2.87 bit....thanks..steve

In 32bit it can use a maximum of 3.2GB - that's it. If it uses only 2.87 (I assume you got that from task Manager 'Cached' - which is usually about 2 to 3 times the 'used'), then it does not need more at this moment. There is no need to monkey around with it. Vista does a very good job in managing the memory.
