I have a Dell inspiron 531 and my installed memory= 2.00 gb, my total physical memory= 1.93 gb, and my availaible memory=836 mb. 1)Do I need to add more memory to my computer? 2) Could this be a reason for my computer acting up and running slow.?

Hi Dawn

It wouldn't do any harm to upgrade the memory, the more you have the better, although I think the max you can install on that PC is 4GB
Doing a fresh re-install of the OS could be more beneficial than installing more RAM

Absolutely. With less than 1GB of available RAM, Vista will walk on crutches. The rest is probably used by your graphics. Get 4GB. A reinstall will only be a relative help.

To add, use matching memory. http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/ run this if you care to. Buy the memory from where you wish.
