I was messing with the permissions to my user profile in a standard to user to allow a program for the use of Standard users.
However, when i logged on to my user i was suddenly assigned to as temporary profile, where any changes i would make on the profile will not be changed.. I have tried changing the permissions of my original user profile through Local Disk C:--->users--->my profile. I have given full control to any user on this PC to access this file, but i still can't access my original user profile. All i get from the event logger is that i may have insufficient security access or my user profiles are corrupt.
and yet the details say: Access is denied.

Help! Please! I'm suffering!!! I'm using a Guest User and it STINKS!!! LIVING NIGHTMARE!!

Gmanlink,

Your past postings concern "hacking" into machines. Will leave it up to Moderator for response.

ok listen.. that was just to prank my sister cus she was buggin' me.
i do not plan on "hacking" into different computers in the future. I've no reason to hack PC's in the first place. I was just messing with the permissions in another user, then i had to use a temporary user profile whenever i logged on to my own user profile.

Someone recommened a system restore to the day before, could that be effective?

oh and also, and secondly, wallaceb, i have already downloaded ubuntu, and it works like a charm. but i seriously don't think that ubuntu has the capabilty to fix user profiles... although, i wouldn't know, i haven't been using ubuntu that much.

oh and i didn't burn an ubuntu setup and installed it to my PC. I used wubi to install ubuntu, which really is very conveiniet since you don't have to waste precious disk space... (i have a ton of DVD-R disks)

Karma sometimes arrives early.

System restore may work. And I think you have to have a "Live" Ubuntu CD.
