I had thought that at first but discounted it when I saw the car because there didn't seem to be enough mass to power it. After reading your link, however, I'm wondering although the inventor's description definitely wouldn't fit.

Interesting comments, unfortunately he did not give much away to form an exact idea. FES was used in Sweden years ago on their buses but it needs a big flywheel to store the energy. One comment was the back of the car seemed loaded down and suspected a trunk full of batteries.
