Vista Business loaded onto a Sony laptop (VGN-FE890), in an effort to diagnose problems with my Netgear wireless router, I was directed by Netgear to check my system drivers.
Under 'Device Manager', in the network adapters, I found an alert pertaining to 'Microsoft 6to4 adapter' not working properly, with the following message, "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."
When I attempt to update the driver, I get the following: "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date"
Needless to say this is driving me batty, I don't even know where to start at the MS website to research code 31.........

Should I attempt to update this driver in safe mode?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks again whs for the info.
I was able, rather painlessly, navigate the vast MS trouble code site, only to find that there is nothing wrong with this particular driver.
Trouble is, the notice does not say how to get rid of the cryptic 'attention' exclamation point.........

My suspicion is that this message has nothing to do with your router problem and that Netgear sent you on a wild goose chase. It is though strange, that it pops up where your driver semms to be ok. Don't know what to say.

Found out that there is a problem with my notebook, it seems as though, lately, that whenever I revive it from sleep mode, I cannot access the net, even with it connected directly to the cable modem.
The only way it will connect is 'repair network connector" or something like that.
I do remember reading elsewhere in this forum about funky Vista behavior after waking up from sleep mode, will look into it, Thanks man!

I personally never had any sleep mode problems (on 3 different PC's)
