lost volume

I have a laptop and the volume was working fine this am but it just stopped , What am I missing

question , my laptop is a acer and has internal sound that stopped for a unknown reason today . It says it has no sound

I have hit the mute button by accident too many times. The volume controls don't work unless you push the mute again.

If that doesn;t work, go to Control Panel>Sounds and make sure the settings there are to your liking.

You could also go to device manager and see if the sound card has any errors.

There's a known bug with sleep / hibernate mode as well where the sound doesn't come back.
