Gone through the reset procedure and not sure this post will be seen because I see the words login and signup which suggests that I am not logged in. I am Phil Pense, a user that created a How to Geek a very long time ago. Hoping that this will make it to the webmaster or some appropriate individual.

Well, you are logged in now and there does not seem to be a problem.
When you say reset, are you changing password?
If you see the blue login or register screen then your browser has lost the details. Site maintenance might have changed what you see.
