What are .log files for and can they be safely deleted? What if they can't be deleted because they are in use?

They log things (like error reports, sfc /scannow scans, and many more)
They can be deleted, and will remake themselves anew if, and when required.

You usually open log files in Notepad. This is a log for Adwcleaner after searching for adware, toolbars etc.
