Hi All

ok here is the network...

SBS 2011 running the show,
Mix of Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 PC's
Users want to be able to use any machine at any thime.
Watchgarud Firewall routers

Here is the Problem...

Want to lock it down so users cant save any work to the PC's and only to the server,
Lock down so they cant really get anywhere on the PC's (have seen it where you click the start menu and only get, 'Printers', Programs > The program then need to run... etc.
Lock down the internet so that most people cant use it and only some departments can but restrict the likes of porn and facebook etc...
An AV that can be deployed updated and maintained from the server (was hoping Secutiry essentials)

how would i go about this the best way?

all help and advice is much appriciated.

Sounds like this is for a Correctional or Incarceration Institution ??

There are some public Windows Group Policy Templates available.

Let me search and see if I can find one.

A possible alternative would be to check with the Bureau of Prisons or Homeland Security IT
and see if they will provide guidance.

Don't think any Military is allowed to give guidance by law.

@Rick, I don't think you misunderstood the question. Companies are run like prisons now a days. LOL

Sure seems that way from what I see on the TV news and read on the net.

Don't believe I could function in today's work environment, think I'll just stick to the Hardware Topics. (LOL) (LOL)
