Hey guys I just got a new computer and for some reason ALL the versons of linux i have tried to install will not even boot into live mode! it gets to the loading screen and the screen goes black and then im in some command prompt! Im fairly new to linux so im easly stumped when it comes to problems!

my comp specs are :

Intel Q9550 2.83ghz processer
Asus Maximus Formula 2 Mobo
4gbs of crucial ballistix ram
Sound blaster card (im not sure it came with the mobo)
ATI Radion 4780x2 video card
2x 1tb segate hdds

have you gone into your bios to change it so it will then boot from the live disk and not boot from the hard drive first. you will need to press a key at start-up it should say something like press ____ to get into setup. or something similar it's usually like del, f1, f2.

i figured it out finally!! it was my videocard messing with things!! i went in to safe graphics mode and got it working!
