I'm trying to use Liberte Linux for anonymous browsing.

I downloaded the iso image for Liberte linux but don't know what to do after that.

I'm new to ubuntu and linux.

Thanks!

Probably you just need to burn it to a CD. In Ubuntu you can burn it with Brasero, in Windows you can use ImgBurn for that:
http://www.imgburn.com

Then insert that CD on a computer and reboot. If it does not load Liberte Linux from the CD, you will need to select the CD as your boot device. To do so you will need to press a key at the screen with the logo of the manufacturer of your PC. This depends on the manufacturer: for HP this is typically ESC or F9, for Dell you must press F12, and so on. You can see this in the first screen when you boot your computer.

If you want to use it from a USB stick it will probably run faster, but you will need to follow these instructions:

Never tried this linux in particular, but if you need any help just ask.

Thanks Ruja.

I was looking to add something to ubuntu os that would hide my ip b/c with ubuntu viruses don't get downloaded.

My guess is that liberty linux isn't the same with respect to viruses, or is it also as good?

If not, is there something I can add to ubuntu to hide my ip addrress?

Thanks again,
Anthony
