(Solved) - letter automatically added to dialog box

Hi,

When I type anything into a dialog box such as this one the letter "k" is automatically entered many times kkkkkkkkkkk and I have to delete it to complete a sentence. My first thought is that it must be some kind of virus, but I have scanned my computer with two different anti virus programs and they have turned up nothing. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi cinque8, this is likely to be a sticking key. Is it a laptop? What make and model? We can see if it's easy to take the key/s out to clean.

Hi Mike,

This is a Dell Latitude D610 laptop, I would have no problem taking the keyboard out, but don't know what to do once I get it out.

wow! It's a case of either blowing with compressed air or ( be careful here but it works) brushing the pad with isopropyl alcohol, hairdrying (hot)
In most cases either suggestions really do work

Mike I took the keyboard out and gave it a good spray with compressed air, and for the first time I am not having the problem!
