I purchased a laptop used. the thing has problems. i had a friend take a look at it - he works on computers. it acts as though it has a virus to which he found none but rather said the windows operating system had some major problems. it o.s. is Vista & i have tried to find a sight that i can download & do a restore, but to my amazement there is none that is free & the company of computer ( Acer) does not offer any solutions. I can by typing & suddenly the cursor jumps somewhere else causing a 5 min job to be five hrs. using a typewriter would be quicker. Please tell me you have some suggestions. Thanks

Laptop trouble
(8 posts)You can download a free Vista from here: http://en.community.dell.com/s.....river.aspx
Then you have to make a universal install disc because the site offers only Ultimate: http://jimcofer.com/personal/2.....0%9D-disc/
When you are installed, you activate with the product key on the COA sticker - it is on the bottom of the laptop. Hopefully nobody else is using it already. With a used laptop, you never know.
Download Genuine Windows Vista RTM with SP1 Setup Files (32-bit and 64-bit)
