laptop cannot read CD or DVD

I've got a Tshiba laptop,and windows Vista and my CD and DVD player is not working. Even the corresponding letter /D does not appear when i go to my computer.
Thank you.
I've already tried system restore but i didn't work

Have a look for it Device Manager and report back with any info

That's what appear on device manager. The driver is up to date and when I press Checj for a solution nothing Happens.

Try this. I know it's for XP but apparenntly it's good for Vista too

Thank You Lighthouse, I edit the registry manually and restart my computer and it works.
