Laptop Battery

I have a Gigabyte Q2005 Netbook and lately the battery icon in the taskbar says plugged in and charging but when I remove the power cord than the netbook dies instantly. It wont start up either when not plugged in.

When I plug it in again it will start up again.

The battery icon also has a red cross next to it. Do I need to replace the battery?

Battery would be my guess. Seems stadard battery is three cell six cell with longer life is optional. Don't know which you have but, recommend the six cell if you are buying.
