I have a problem changing the default resolution when Kubuntu boots up. The default is 1024 X 768 at 50 Hz. I used Automatix to download my Nvidia video drivers. I am now able to go to System/Nvidia settings and can set them at my favorite 1152 X 864 at 75 Hz. I am given the option to save these settings to xorg.conf Apparently this does nothing because on the next boot, it has reverted back to the 1024 X 768 at 50 Hz. What do I need to do to make these settings stick. Is there some terminal entry I should be using?

If it's still off, use `
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and be sure to select the proper driver and resolutions during reconfiguration.
