would any one happen to know of any good free tutorials that are online or in pdf form. kinda want to try out java but can't really find many good ones.

@wbowman i don't want to learn javascript just java. but that is a good site.

@scott do you know of any thing that can be in a pdf format because i like to put them on my flash drive and read them when i have spare time and don't always have an internet connection and is it possible to make web pages into pdf's too?

jack, I would copy/paste it into a word file and save as pdf. Takes a few minutes even for 25 to 50 pages.

In case you do not yet have "save as pdf or xpf" in your Word, you can download it from here http://office.microsoft.com/en.....fcresset=1 Look under "popular downloads"

You'd still have to convert them to pdf, but that's easy enough.

Am I right in the assumption that open office has a similar facility (store as pdf)?

yes it already has one built in which is really helpful in this case
