When i try to add music from my libary to my iPod [5th Generation] it would complete about 1-3 songs then it freezes and stop repounding.
I've tried many, many times to reopen it and try again. There's no hope it just dosen't add more then 1-3 songs.
If anyone knows some Causes and or solutions, or perhaps even better some other software that adds music to iPods in an organized fashion.
please if anyone could help, it stinks to have only 26 songs on your iPod when you have a 30Gb iPod and a libary with over 1,000 songs.

if you have warranty send it back or call1-800-my apple.i had the same problem.i had a new one within a week."sharepod" works great for transferring songs to and from your ipod.i had a little problem with sharepods media player but that may have been my fault.i jus wanted to transfer songs of my ipod to my laptop and it worked great.one thing i found out is to never sync your music .i lost 7000 songs of my ipod.it would only get to 200 and stop responding...you should manually manage your music...create a new smartlist and all your new songs will go to a new folder...then you highlight them and drag them over to your ipod. oh and one more thing that worked for me when my comp wouldn't recognize my ipod i went in to my ipod and scrolled down to Reset all settings" and reset them and it worked.i read about holding the menu button and the center button at the same time and tried that but it still wouldn't recognize my ipod the last hint is just something that may help you if you encounter this problem.hey it's simple but it worked for me.

yea, i tried "sharepod" it didn't work out for me. The thing is i don't have any like documents or resits that show i bought the iPod, it was a gift from a friend of mines. So you say it's best to just drag the music to the iPod?
Which fold in the iPod do i drag it to.. it has more then one folder in there... is there a spacific place i need to put it in. Also holding the center and menu resets it [good to use in case your iPod stoped working]
I did try to put the songs in the iPod manually, by draging, but it didn't appear, and it took 1 hour for only 12 songs to my copyed.
I think i am better off just finding a Mac somewhere and then doing it there.. iTunes was ment for Mac

when your ipod is hooked to your computer it do show that there is an ipod there in the left side of your screen right? i got songs from my friends pc when i plugged my ipod in her computer.double click on a song and it turns blue and hold down on the mouse button while dragging it over to where the ipod is shown and it will transfer.that way you dont have to sync. have you tried Yampod or ephpod(not sure about that spelling) .you may have a problem with the hardware...i have an ipod classic 80 gb.when i sync my music it deleted all my songs and started to put them back but would only go to about 200.i had to send it back to apple.

Oh, yea... i tried all of thoes... it's supers slow! I don't know why. No nothing pops up when i plug in the iPod besides a window that asks if i want to scan drive "k" [which is my iPod's USB port i use]
I think it is the hardware. Would Geek Sqaud be able to fix it? -[Im not sure if there is a Geek Sqaud Store where you live]

sorry bro im not sure about "geek squad'.i dont think there is one here .i know enough about computers to get me in trouble.lol.your question was the only one on this site i've seen in months that i thought i might be able to give some insight.lol..i personally will never buy another ipod.(maybe next time i will try a Zune) and as soon as my ipod dies then so will Itunes.i hate how much it hogs and the fact i have have Quicktime" or itunes won't work really annoys me..then again as soon as i can get Sharepod's media player to work for me then i won't need Itunes.

and sometimes when i think Yamipod is taking too long i use "ImTOO iPod Computer Transfer" <-- that's the full name of it, it's only a free version, which you must later buy. Or get a torrent for it.

You can also try the iPod support in Winamp.
I'm not sure how good it is though as I don't have an iPod.
