thanks scott for the heads up, one of my updates was called security update for microsoft xml core services 4.0 service pack 2 (kb954430).in computer properties it still says i have service pack 1. is this not the os service pack 2?(confused)

(7) Critical ones on the XP side of the house.
Saw around (25) Critical new ones on a Win2K machine two weeks ago.

Mike, I can't find any reference to that Knowledge Base article. XML core services SP2 has been around for a while, that I remember.
