I've been using this article to create a custom Win7 image. How to create custom build Windows 7 bootable disk.

When I copy the newly customized install.wim and save the ISO it will not boot when I test it in VMware Workstation.
It acts like the ISO isn't bootable. Done some searching, but I have come up blank so far.

Any ideas why this wouldn't boot up?

Is your USB device being recognized ?

Sorry, should have been clear. I'm not putting the ISO on the USB device. I'm wanting to boot directly from the modified ISO.

Have you burnt the ISO to a CD/DVD ?

I have not, I just had VMWare boot from the image and it won't boot from the ISO.
The ISO is bigger then any DVD I can burn it to.

Then you may have to use a USB device as that is what that spiceworks article is designed for, it may not work any other way.

Ok, I will have to find one to clear up and give it a go.

Added the image to my WDS server and it worked great.
I'll be going that route vs using a USB stick.
