When I try most things with the command prompt, it says "access is denied" and when I try to restart the computer in safe mode, I have found that the original administrator had a password set up, so I don't know how to get past that. Most other things end up saying "access is denied" as well. Any other suggestions?

I would recommend my favorite account cracker, it finds/cracks your admin password, then u can get into admin account, if u didn't heard about it,then read a little description and the download link.

Best wishes,
Thanks.

Shkumbin, the tool you use is indeed a very good tool for admins, but not the kind that should be given to first time posters here!! Thus an edit on your post, Matt

Madmacs, you're right, I apologize but can't edit it because the 30 minutes to edit have gone!

Best wishes,
With respect...

johntiki, hello. You talk about the "original administrator" which suggests that it's not you. If you have been given a limited user account, then the only way to become an admin is to use an administrator's credentials (username and password) to login or elevate (run as administrator).

If you cannot access an admin account or obtain those credentials from the previous owner, reinstall Windows and create yourself an account as admin.

I'm trying to do this without going onto the original administrator account. Basically, I want to install the new version of iTunes, and my parents won't let me because they think it takes up to much space. So I'm just trying to beat the system by making myself an administrator, at least temporarily. Any other ideas?

There is no way. Only way is to talk to your parents and tell them it does not take much space!!
