I tried to use vnc on vista but it wasn't working for me. Am I doing something wrong or does it just not work?

I've used vnc on vista. You can't install it in service mode, because it won't work. It has to be run as a regular app.

Certain apps work, but some don't. I've tried RealVNC and Crossloop, which both worked for me.

I assume you mean vnc server, not the viewer?

I'm not sure what Neticar has to do with VNC. You can use a tool called VNCScan (www.vncscan.com) to push UltraVNC to Vista as a service and it works great. Alternatively, if you want to do it manually, head over to www.uvnc.com and download the 1.0.4 version of UltraVNC.
