Hello Geeks. I'd like to know if ddr2 memory from a GA-81PE775 motherboard will fit into a Dell Dimension 5100 which also takes ddr2? Iv'e been told that the notches don't line up. Is this correct? Regards.

From what I can find, the mother board takes "DDR" 184 pin and the Dell 5100 takes "DDR2" 240 pin

Correction. It is DDR and not DDR2 memory i want to transfer to the Dell.

Iv'e acquired a secondary pc for use by the grand kids and wanted to transfer the memory from an old machine, not realising that it was indeed DDR ram, and i guess that is why the notches wont line up.
