so finally the iPhone 3G is going to be released here in the Phils and i'm thinking of buying one, but a friend of mine told me that its not as great as its supposed to be. he says he's been hearing things like the battery only lasts around 4 hours and the predictive text input can't be turned off.

does anybody have any first hand experience? i was so excited when i heard it was finally going to be released, but if its not as great as the previous iPhone or the iTouch, i think i'm gonna have to wait again until apple releases a new iPhone 3G (hopefully).

The battery life is short if you have 3G/WiFi, GPS, the camera etc all turned on at once and leave them turned on. Otherwise it's not *that* bad. Maybe wait for one of your friends to buy one, check out theirs, then decide if you want one yourself :)
