After I shutdown and turned back on my computer last night a very strange thing happened. I can see the wireless networks here at my uni but I cannot connect to the one that's broadcast all across campus. I try to connect but it just says "Windows was unable to connect to NET" and I need to troubleshoot. WHen I do it tells me to check my wireless router or access points and as I said, I'm at uni so I don't have access to the router or anything. When I push further, I am told the following in the troubleshoot log:

If you're connected to a hotspot or domain network, contact the network administrator. Otherwise: 1. Unplug or turn off the device. 2. After all the lights on the device are off, wait at least 10 seconds. 3. Turn the device back on or plug it back into the power outlet. To restart a router or access point that has a built-in battery, press and quickly release the Reset button.
Reset the wireless adapter Completed

I am running Windows7 Ultimate build 7600 on my Dell Vostro 1520. The network I am trying to connect to is called "BobcatNet" and it is WPA-Enterprise. I just don't understand what's wrong since just the other day I connected to it fine and for the past five weeks.Any help is appreciated.

Some side notes -

Basically everyone else can connect to the network.
The school help desk can't help me because I don't have the school computer.
I have shut down, restarted, and put to sleep my computer numerous times.
I have flipped on and off the wireless switch on my computer many times too.
The network is showing that I have a full signal.
I cannot remove BobcatNet from "Manage Wireless Networks"

because i have a perfectly good laptop that has one issue that i would like to resolve. school computer cost $1500 for 1gb RAM and 250GB HDD and a warranty that works if you throw it down a flight of stairs. is there anything in the log that stands out as an issue?

As you are a student who is trying to beat the system, I think the conversation ends here.

no that's not the point of this - i just didn't buy the school computer and no one will help me here. that's the deal the school runs - buy the school computer and you get to be helped at the help desk. buy your own and you're on your own. i thought someone might be generous and assist me here.

i deem that a bit intrusive. that information should not need to be known in order for me to have assistance.

All you have to do is email me the name of the school so I can check the regulations. What's wrong with that ?

Would it be Quinnipiac University by any chance ?

joefur -
I'm having the same issue you were down to the error codes trying to connect to my school's network (Northwestern U). Was wondering if you ever found a resolution to the issue.
Thanks,

After reading through this I have a feeling that the university has a setting that only allows certain computers to access the internet server. A quick question for you - can anybody else connect to the wireless internet that did not buy there computer via the university?
