Installing Windows XP w/ pre-existing Vista on HP Laptop

I am trying to remove Windows Vista from an Acer Aspire 5315-2153 and install Windows XP. I followed the steps but I am not able to boot to the Windows XP cd. No matter how I change it in the BIOS, it still just boots to Vista. Any ideas?
