Installing OS on another computer from backup discs

Hey everybody
A friend of mine just got a Windows 7 64 bit computer and I am pretty eager to get 64 bit on my computer.
He has made a system backup on a cople of CDs and I'm wondering if I can use them to install the 64 bit system on my computer successfully from those discs?
(I have 32 bit)

If your processor supports 64bit, and your devices are W7 compatible, and you have purchased a product key, then maybe.

Yes, supports 64 and Win 7.
Now about that product key :S

Also if the installation is OEM, from a different make/model of machine, yours might not accept it.
