That's just great advice from tech support. You should play hardball with them and tell them their help was part of the price you paid when you purchased their machine. If they won't help you then you should get a refund for the price of your support that was included with your machine. These corporations like MS and OEMs are really getting out of hand.
Besides you will get better help in a forum like this. As long as we let them get away with this they will continue to drop you know what all over us. That's why I never buy a machine, I build my machines. I have the best tech support and it is free. I have myself and the people in the forums I belong to.
