I am running Windows Vista Ultimate with IE8. All microsoft updates are complete, no viruses detected with Nortion 2012, no spy ware detected, no adware detected. When I try to access www.kfor.com or www.ok43.com, ie8 lockes up and crashes. I have checked ALL the rest of my favorite links and all work perfect. Have tried accessing this site with no add-ons running, unsuccessful. Have uninstalled IE8 back to IE7, then reinstalled IE8 for vista, no success. Help or suggestions. If more info is needed, let me know.

for one thing you should change the link of the second one to http://www.43thespot.com/OK43/ there seems to be a redirect there that is not working properly.

Secondly do not go back to IE7, go forward to IE9. IE7 will soon no longer be supported and more and more websites will not work there.

The first one seems to work just fine in IE9, Firefox and Google Chrome. You might also try those other browsers if IE9 still refuses to work with those sites.

!st link in FF works but slow, 2nd link no connect in uk.
If you have been installing and reinstalling IE8, 7 an 9 this could be the problem.
Also rendering problems may exist if silverlight and .netframework has not been updated.
Try MS update and see what is 'required' for download.

IE7 seems to work on these 2 web sites. After re-installing IE8, they stop and freeze. I have tried several times to upgrade to IE9, and it takes about 3 minutes just to load to the default home page either using a "about:blank" or "www.google.com" as the home page. Once IE9 loads it runs fine. Any way or help on getting IE9 to load faster when I click on the IE9 shortcut icon?

I have checked my system for ad-ware, spyware, and viruses. It comes up clean. Have all the latest updates installed.

Download CCleaner : http://www.piriform.com/ install and select all the bits you want to clean up (or leave it at Default setting) and Run it.

First click Analyze then Run CCleaner to remove unwanted temp files and clear cache/cookies.

Downloaded CCleaner, ran it in the default settings. Cleaned what it suggested, rebooted computer. Still can not load http://www.kfor.com or http://43thespot.com/OK43. Both these sites cause my IE8 to freeze and stop working.

No updates are required from MS update. However, I do have Silverlight installed.

Just checked and all MS updates are in place and loaded. Installed IE9 with all MS updates (none), next I launched IE9 and it took 65 seconds to load a blank page (default set to "about:blank". Once it is loaded web pages load about the same as on IE7 and IE8, except the 2 web sites posted earlier, they both still hang. IE8 and IE7 load within 4 seconds after clicking the icon to launch. What is the deal? Any suggestions? Everything on this computer seems to be up-to-date (MS, Java, Flash player, all applications, etc. Even ran (agina) CCleaner, Malwarebytes, Norton Antivirus 2012, etc. The only brouser that works great is IE7.

Did the reset of the Host file back to default. Still hangs on http://www.kfor.com and http://www.43thespot.com/OK43. Have loaded Safari and Google Chrome. They both work great. Have also uninstalled IE8. Now have IE7, and it works great.

Still can not figure out why IE8 and IE9 will not work on Windows Vista Ultimate. IE8 worked great until about 2 weeks back. Been trying to figure it out since then and so far no luck. All good help, here, and thanks. Any more ideas or suggestions and I will give them a try.

Both sites are very slow to load for me using IE9.

I looked at the Source Code and it appears to be much in disarray as compared to other sites.

Not sure how or if this would affect other browsers and under other DSL speed / bandwidth conditions.

John ,

You said you have Java 7, as far as I am aware it is only at 6 build 1.6.0_31-b05.
