One thing I will add. It may take a bit longer than the next day. The updates in different countries arrive on different days. But all within 4 or 5 days of Update Tuesday.

what if the updates dont let you on the internet.Like what happened to me ,how am i supposed to find out and could you please tell me why updates are so important.Is it not enough that you have a good antivirus/spyware up to date or is that not enough.As i said before i ran xp for 2 year with no updates and didn't have a problem.

Updates are also to repair conflicts between the OS and 3rd party programs. Not just AV issues.
Also, they may improve the OS itself. Make it a bit faster, things like that.

can you uninstall an update ,as i dont see an option for it 28 were installed yesterday after i done a reinstall,i turned them off as i dont want to have to reinstall again.Whats your advice should i turn them on or keep them off.

You should have had a Restore Point created automatically before you installed them. You can check on that. If they don't create any probs you are OK.
