They are eaten. And the meat is exported. They farm them especially for that.

I've eaten Alligator meat, it's delicious!
At the place we got it at, it costs 12 Dollars a pound (LB)! we took 10LB's with us...120$.
It was in Connecticut, USA

We pay about the same for kangaroo, thus only eat 'em on special occasions.

Oops. I just had a word with a chef friend of mine, and the price is around US$6 per pound (lb). That is wholesale.
I know I have a bad memory, but, Oh my :)
