I have upgraded my PC and fitted a new mother board, as this had no IDE socket I purchased a IDE Controller card. I have added this to the mother board and connected 2 IDE hard drives to them.

I have Windows 7 running on A SATA drive but the IDE hard drives are not been detected either in BIOS or Windows 7.

The unit I bought is a Dynamode PCI serial ATA + IDE controller card. I cannot find any drivers for it even on the Dynamode Web Site.

Any ideas/Suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you in advance.

What does Device Manager show for IDE Controllers?

unplug the controller card, reboot into windows, check windows is running fine or as you want it.
Shutdown, reinstall the card, reboot, you may see a screen that states the card is being installed
If not found then look on boot, then look in device manager and see if there are question marks, if so, click 'update driver'

HI

In the device manager I have Standard Duel Channel PCI IDE Controller which is listed twice.

I have also noticed I have listed under other devices a Mass Storage Controller which has the yellow warning. The deice status for this shows no driver selected, which obviously I don not have! ;-(

Your help is really apprechiated.

Mike Tried that windows ran fine, on reboot just the same as descrided above. In the Device manager I tried serching for updated drivers with no luck and well as uninstalling it and then scanning for hardware changes.

Just a thought should they both be set to slave units?

One should be a master and one a slave if they are both on the same cable, or on cable select.

It is entirely possible that there are no drivers for this device under Windows 7. Where did you buy this IDE card? What did it list as requirements? With this information we may be able to find drivers, if they exist.

I take it the card is software driven as it does not appear in the Bios?
