Hey everyone,

I just ordered an intel i7 3930k processor on ebay. It's an OEM version which I got at a very reasonable price (€100 less then retail). After I ordered it I found out that there's one which uses C1 stepping and this was replaced with one which uses C2 stepping. I'm not sure what version I'm getting. I've read bits and pieces on it but can't find out that much info really other than Vt-d doesnt function properly with C1. To be honest I have absolutely no idea what this means. My main worry is have I made a mistake buying this processor or should it be ok no matter what version it is? I can return it if necessary.

Thanks in advance for any help.

http://huntall.com/core-i7-396.....fixes-bugs It seems what you want to do with it is the critera. Post the link from E-bay of what you bought and, more knowledgeable members will probably come on to help you. It is the weekend so check back, some members are not on as much as during the week.

Perfect, thanks warlock. I'll mainly be using it for 3D Cad applications and HD video editing, I'd just like to know that I don't have a product that's 'faulty'.
