I'm nearly at the end of Northern Exposure. Is there another series (similar style) that anyone could recommend.? Small town, in the country (or desert) type thing.

Here in northern Vermont we get the CBC out of Toronto. They just had a series called "The Week the Women Went" that took place in a rural town in Alberta. Very well done, but non-fiction.

I haven't seen 'Men in Trees' but think it fits what you're looking for:

How about "In the heat of the night". I think that was in MS or MO.

Thanks whs. just googled it, and it seems to be more of a cop show than a community thing

Well, yes and no. It has a lot of community elements. The cop part is only the wrapping. They also made a film of it, but that I liked less than the TV series. It was even showing on German TV at one time.

"Green Acres is the place to be,
F-f-f-f-arm living is the life for me..."

Seriously, do you have a DVD player that can play disks from my zone?

Ya, I used to love Green Acres in the 60's. Real old America.

What about Netflix? Not sure if you can get it in europe. I love it,you can watch movies, old tv shows instantly, and it's cheap.

Our local library lends out CD's and DVD's for free, so getting them is not a problem. I just have to tell them what to order for me. That's the problem, because I don't really know what's been happening in TV world for the last 20+ years
