I need to edit the file

Hi i badly need to edit the file name of one of my excel files. I am so frustrated since the system won't allow me to change it. Moreover, i can't move it or delete it to just make a new one. I am so desperate!

What kind of error are you getting?
Have you tried this to unlock the file http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/

Are you using office 2010??? did you click on Enable editing when trying to open the file?

You can't move or delete or rename a file that is currently in use. Do you possibly have the file open?

Have you tried doing it in Safe Mode?

If you can load it into Excell then you can rename it by doing a Save As:
