I am trying to record using a USB microphone (Blue's Yeti), but I hear a lot of hiss unless I turn the microphone's recording levels (not the microphone gain) all the way down. I read somewhere that my sound card might be causing the hiss but I don't see why. Can anyone help?

I am using Windows Vista (64 bit).

JoseB, Welcome to HTG. Is this a laptop or a desktop? Is there an onboard microphone? Can you hear the hisss using this?
