Hi Hamilton990,

There is no option to get an email notification or the likes on this forum.
You just have to take a look from time to time ;)

Hi. If you add the topic to your favourites (using the link at the top right of the blue header) you can then subscribe to an RSS feed detailing your favourite topics.

EDIT: Or what Sarah said. :-)

Ah, my bad - I don't use RSS feeds, so I forgot that option ;)

Once you have posted, visit this link often (while logged in). It shows all the topics that you started and in which you participated...
http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/view/my-posts

See the name of the LAST POSTER, if that is not your name, then there is a reply to your topic

Or simply, if your topic is in BLUE, it means there is a new reply to the topic

(i mentioned it in my HTG tutorial, but, oh well, who cares, who remembers it, even i don't !)

Hatryst, I'd love to see your tutorial. Can you give me a link to it?

Hey Niks, unfortunately, I don't have it now !

I had it on my 4shared web drive, but it got deleted (because i didn't access it for 30 days)
And i had it on my hard drive, but the hard drive got PHYSICALLY damaged, so I don't have it anywhere now

Perhaps LH, SarahJames, or whs might have it on their hard drive (by the name HTG tutorial.pps), because all these members viewed the tutorial, but i'm not sure if they have it now...
(If anyone has got it, it would be really great if you provide it !)

Sorry Hatryst, I can't help you.
Remember having problems with the pps at the time and I generally don't store all I can find online (having about 550GB personal data already I'm not adding anything I can find elsewhere <LOL>).

I personally feel that HTG should have the email notification feature enabled. This will increase more page visits to it and many first time users will come back to check for the reply.

Dunno ...
Because I had to check on the site myself and not knowing when an answer would be posted I got hooked on the site :)
With emailnotification people will one view their own post.
(I know I do on other forums - never bother to check what's going on apart from my own question)
By forcing them to take action themselves (check every once in a while) they come across other posts too and hang around a bit.

I think there should be a notification on the website itself whenever a new post is there in the topic we've participated in. Because what happens, we just sometimes forget(or ignore by mistake) the topic in which we have replied. So, whenever a new post arrives to a topic we've participated in, although it turns blue, it gets ignored by mistake.

I know this thread is four months old now, but I agree with several of the other people. I would like an e-mail notification, or at least an option of one, when someone posts to or after me in a thread. I check my e-mail every day, and it would be helpful to me, ( and those I attempt to help) if I knew there was an extra reason to check in.

So, my vote is "For", in the e-mail option notification poll. <GRIN>
