This is a minor request.
Is there any plans on making links (those on the website and forums) open in a new tab automatically ?

I know it's easy to 'Mouse-Wheel Click' links to have them open in new tab automatically but... come on. A tech site that opens links in the same windows is just as annoying (if not stupid - to remain polite) as a computer store without automatic door (I've seen that, in a Best Buy / Future Shop store).

My 2 cents.

I know all about addons, how to install them, use them, configure them, tweak them etc.
I'm just saying that .. in 2013, a geek website that sends people away from it's website when clicking links is weird to me.

Right click link, open in new tab? Never had a problem with that one.........

The link is either internal to HTG or external as a reference so I'm not sure what you are suggesting

I learned the wheel click trick from here and, once I worked out how to use it on my mouse with the sensitive wheel without jumping the pointer wheel, its use has become habitual (I open everything in a new tab rather than mess with the back button). I would rather see the program development time used to allow a thread to open in the next new post instead of either the beginning or end only.

I'm suggesting that clicking site and forums links open said links in a new tab instead of the current tab.

We know what you are suggesting; we just don't think it's that big of an issue. I was pointing out what I would rather see done than what you are suggesting.

If you read my original post, you will see the words 'MINOR' and '2 cents'.

I'm so used to the middle click!
instead, left clicking a link and when the link opens in a new tab, it annoys me :D

Just realized I forgot to specify 'links going to other websites'.

The word "links" covers other websites.

Also covers other pages within HTG.
Anyway, I'll keep using middle-click like it's 1998.

Ya, 1998 was a good year.
