Is there a way of connecting this device to the internet without using a cell phone.

Looking at this model (I am not sure that this is yours) http://www.californiacomputer......e%5Ftest=1 it appears to have an 802.11b connectivity. That means it should be able to work off a router. It may not be too fast, because "b" is an older protocol, but you can try and see.
