hp dv9700 win 7 no cd/dvd drive or webcam?
(8 posts)Lemme ask this, power down your machine, remove the CD/DVD drive, power it back on like normal. Then shut it back down and put the drive back in. Then power it back up to see if it recognizes it.
Some of the craziest things IT's do is remove something and put it back in and it seems to magically work (ie, PFM = Pure F***ing Magic) :)
For the CD drive you could try this: http://support.microsoft.com/m.....lems/en-us -- No idea regarding the camera.

7 Ultimate suggests you have purchased the OS separately and the HP drivers were not installed

Hi Mike,
All the Hp drivers are installed - worked perfectly on Vista, but when upgraded to Win 7 nothing works device drivers tell me they are the latest updates. On the website you suggested, I can put in the hp model but will not allow me to put in windows 7 operating system? Kris
dv9700xxx are there any letters following your model? The drivers may be available from here http://www8.hp.com/au/en/home.html
