How to use your TV as your computer monitor

I have bought a VGA/SVGA cable and a HDMI cable.
one fit in for the computer and one fit for the TV
but I cant seem to find one that fits both

I have a HP computer and a Panasonic TV

what do I have to get?

You can get VGA to HDMI cables but they won't handle audio and they will only give you VGA resolution. What you need is a 'VGA to HDMI converter' - do a Google for it as there are a number of different ones with additional functions/connections etc. Expect to pay around £40 for one.
