hi....could someone please tell me how to run the 3 recovery discs i received from the store (Geeksquad) when i bought my HP Pavilion laptop? When i put the discs in the laptop, they show the files that are on them but i'm not sure how to use them. Any advice much appreciated.

Luke, hello. Typically, the first disc in the set is bootable so you put it in the drive and restart the system. If your boot sequence is not configured to look for CD media to boot from, you either need to change the boot sequence in the Setup Utility or find the boot menu key (usually F12) to press at start time. If you can get to the boot menu with F12, select the CD drive and it will try to boot from the disc.
You do know that the operation of the recovery discs will wipe out any data that you have on your hard drive, right? If you have any data that you don't want to lose, you should back it up to an external storage medium before using the recovery discs.
