Is there any way to post a Powerpoint presentation on the Forum?

We can probably get The Geek to host it.

It's not for one particular one. But I get some Powerpoint feeds that are really amazing at times (like e.g. the Mars photos). But if I want to share it on the "Off Topic", I have to snip the pics and upload them. Would be easier to post the original Powerpoint file itself.

You can upload powerpoint documents that are 10mb or less to Google Docs, and you can then share them via a link... might be the best option all around for sharing.

Thanks Geek, never used Google docs (Google is more or less banned from my systems). But I'll check on Photobucket. Maybe it works there too. But 10MB's is not a lot.

The idea of using google docs is that people don't have to have powerpoint installed... it converts them to web format so anybody can see them.

10mb is definitely not a lot though.

[edit]: That's 10mb per document, not 10mb total.

Why?

There is also general file hosting services like Windows Live Skydrive though they don't convert the documents. It's just download only.

jd, Every time I allowed some Google on my systems, I found it very invasive. Same with Yahoo. On the IE I don't even have Google search. I disabled practically all the add-ons. And thanks for the link.

This is a trial with jd's link. You need Powerpoint to view it.

Edit: Seems to work.

Yep, that works. I opened it. It appears to be a bunch of odd (In a interesting/good way) photos.

Aleeve, You can snip the pics with the snipping tool (best to save in PNG format). But I would first download the file. I would have to do the same to get individual pics.
Geek, thank you. That's handy for those that do not have PP.

You can also just rename ImaginativePhotographer.pps to ImaginativePhotographer.ppt and then it will open in PowerPoint normal mode where you can just copy the images and paste them elsewhere.

Edit: Also just noticed there is a "Save As Picture" item in PowerPoint when you right click on an image in normal mode that makes this even easier.

hang on
how do you actually change it from pps to ppt?
simply adding a ppt at the end does not work

I think we have to wait for jd to explain it. I am puzzled too.
