That depends on what is supposed to be in the file. Here are some possibilities:

Were you told what kind of file it was when you received it?

its suppose to be a cd image, no it was downloaded via torrent, it came in a bunch of .rar files and it extracted to a .rar file. im afraid im gonna have to download another copy cause i aint downloading this .can extractor (http://www.get.can-programs.com/) unless theres a free extractor. its a 6.5GB image so i was hoping i wasn't gonna have to re download it.

From what you have said it sounds like this torrent is probably a trick to get you to install some spyware. 6.5GB is a strange number, DVD is normally 4.7GB and CD is 700MB, and these disk images are usually .iso or .img. I suggest you download another copy (or buy it legally).

EDIT: It is Far Cry 2 isn't it? Just go and buy it legally you cheap... It ain't that expensive.

its red alert 3 and i was hoping it was gonna be an .iso .bin...etc but oh well another copy is being downloaded with good comments so this one looks legit. the one i downloaded first was the first one on torrent so it didnt have comments so its time to make the first comment as FAKE lol, thanks for the help anyway, i just wanna test the game out and if its good ill buy it for multiplayer.

I agree with you jack, i thought this would have been closed by now seeing as it´s about downloading illegal torrents. Topics like this shouldn´t show up here. We´ve probably all used torrents at one time or another but i don´t see the point in going public about it!!!

Spam comes in a can :)
Following some of the links posted above, I did find a FREE .can decrypter.
Not posting it tho :)
