I have shortcuts to REBOOT,SHUTDOWN & HIBERNATE in win7 home
can someone please tell me how to make shortcut to SLEEP

Don't know, but THIS might work? Hibernate if you want that can be done via SHUTDOWN.EXE.

This command, "rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0", will put you into a hybrid Sleep, takes longer to wake up, but uses less power.

thanks for the post, its a very interesting link but they are not recommending it for win7 as stated below

This utility can work in all 32-bit Windows operating systems: Windows 9x/ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista. However, some of NirCmd commands works only on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.

The SLEEP shortcut works perfectly well with my Windows 7 x64 installation.

Thanks to the recommendation on this forum, I too use Nircmd and have 'sleep', 'hibernate' and 'restart' shortcuts on my taskbar.
