I'm working on a little side project to keep myself busy. It's a CD containing several freeware games. Currently it works, but the menus for selecting the game to be played are all batch files. I want to make a GUI for it, all it needs to do is allow for about about 15 buttons, each starting a program. Don't need anything fancy, but I'm by no means any sort of programmer (the batch files alone took quite a bit of research,) so as simplistic as possible please. So if you could point me to a How-To or a program, i would be much a appreciated.

to learn how to do this it is going to take some serious time i spent like 2 weeks learning and i wasn't anywhere near getting into gui apps. but maybe someone else knows of something that will be easier to make what you are looking for :)

yeah, this isn't a project worth learning C++ for.

ya and i'm not really sure of any other easy ones that you could get this done in a timely manner thats what i learned for a bit was c++ but now that i think of it java may be a better choice for what you are wanting to do. i can see if i can find some tutorials for you?

naw, i've been thinking about taking a java course at my highschool if i have any time, but for now i was just lookin for a program that would help create a GUI, other than that, the batch files work fine, gives it sort of a "underground" kinda feel to it. i've waded through countless google results with no luck so i figured i see if anyone here new of a program that'd work, before i gave up and declared the project complete.

There are many programs online for making menus for CDs. Just search online for Free Autoplay Menu, Free CD Menu or similar.
A couple I found are:

I would recommend taking the Java class, as you could achieve your desired result with Java. I know you didn't want to do this with programming, but you might want to try NetBeans. It is a Java compiler, but it has a visual editor. I have never used it, as I learned to program in Java using another compiler without the visual editor, but I have heard good things about NetBeans.
