(Solved) - how to install two IDE DVD writer

i had two IDE DVD combo, i install both, PC can Boot and i saw an information for the IDE.

however, i didn't saw any writer icon in my computer, so what happen? therefore, neither of them can be used

how can I solve it?

How are you connecting the 2 drives? To the blue IDE socket onboard (IDE2) Secondary?

Set jumpers on the new drive to master and the old drive set to slave

in bios, i just see the IDE master had information, slave didn't

if i connect one of either, i can see icon of the writer in my computer, so i can use it.

when i reconnect both writer, the same issue happen again,

i didn't know what happen to me? i didn't think it's an issue of the IDE wire.....

it connect blue one in the MOBO like handbook said, and grey one and black one to the writer.

i didn't know what is master, as i just see a short description of the IDE interface, but whatever color connect the writer, it seem one writer always show in Bios, in IDE master, IDE slave was nothing

this interface didn't require to set jumper

my MOBO handbook said there was no need jumper for IDE device, my case is DVD device of PC

What icon are you talking about? My DVD and I have 2, a Read Only and a Read/Write, both show as the SAME in COMPUTER?

Are you talking about a PROGRAM that writes the data maybe?

Did you have an icon for a 'writer' (please explain what this is/would be?) before?

it solved, it did require set the jumper from back.

but there was three option, CA, SL, MA,

what is CA? is it cable auto.

so if i set both dvd combo on CA, will it work?

currently, i set one MA and SL, so it work now,

Oddly enough CA is usually referred to as Cable Select. Using it would depend on whether or not your BIOS can use it.
