How to install PalmConnect software on Vista PC

I need to install the PalmConnect serial to USB software on my Dell computer running Vista. I did has directed by Palm to put CD rom in drive then connect the serial cradle to the provided USB cable and plug it in. When this happens the CD ROM install will start automatically. Guess what? It did not start automatically and it would not start manually either. Anyone know how to install PalmConnect on a Windows Vista PC?

As far as I can tell you probably have a CD that only works on XP. As to my research, there is no PalmConnect driver for Vista. MS seems to be on the warpath with several manufacturers (I think Kensington is another one) and does not certify their drivers.

@whs: What do you mean by "seems to be on the warpath"? Do you have any more information on that? I haven't read anything about them not certifying certain drivers.

jd, a) there was some mention of that on the web regarding Palm. b) From Kensington I have the info directly because they could not provide me with a Vista driver (their extended Mouseworks driver) for a Kensington mouse. Then I followed up with them and that's what they told me - in a different wording, of course.
